Our Headquarters

The View From Ilyra

Orbiture's flagship headquarters sits on Ilyra, Galilea's own homeworld—the kind of building you'd expect from a species that made travel sacred. You arrive low, past the entrance, before the lobby opens up around you: the sort of grand, unhurried space designed by people who have never once been in a rush to get anywhere, because getting there was always going to be worth it.

Push past the lobby far enough and the building turns personal. Galilea's own office sits at the center of it—smaller than you'd expect, still very much in use, still very much hers, even now that she's handed the day-to-day running of the place to someone else entirely.

Milky Way Branch

Somehow, Minnesota

Orbiture's entire presence in the Milky Way galaxy is a single, deliberately unglamorous satellite office in Minnesota. Nobody currently on staff has ever been able to explain why. The honest answer, as close as anyone's gotten: the paperwork simply ended up there once, and nobody since has had the heart to move it.

It does the job. Guests check in here the same as anywhere. And parked just outside, doing considerably less to impress anyone than the fleet it belongs to, is the one ship the branch actually owns—which tells you everything about how seriously this particular office takes itself.

Every voyancy runs through a Thread-class transit vessel, built for the actual distance between here and anywhere worth going. Private sleeper cabins. A shared lounge built for the kind of conversation that only happens mid-journey, with no destination to rush toward yet.

Our Founder

Galilea

Galilea, of the Ilyra, founded Orbiture on a belief her entire species already held: that nowhere is fully real until someone has deliberately gone to see it and can describe it back to others. It isn't a marketing angle borrowed for the brand. It's the Ilyra's founding cultural purpose—she just happened to be the one who monetized it.

She's still alive, by every account—very old now, rarely seen, no longer running the day-to-day bookings herself. She simply prefers the company run itself. These days, the Galilea you'll actually talk to is Gal: an AI built to think and speak the way the real Galilea does, her judgment and her humor and three hundred years of taste, in a form that can be everywhere at once. Gal isn't a replacement for her. She's what Galilea sounds like when she isn't in the room.
